Migration Museum

We have taken a hiatus from our blog the last few days because we have been so busy finishing up our plant unit and getting ready for the end of the school year. It’s hard to believe that it’s already June! Today our big buddies came to visit us. Our big buddies have been learning about migration and different species of animals that migrate. They have been working hard to prepare museum exhibits and presentations about migration. Today they brought their museum exhibits to us! They set up temporary migration exhibits in Berglund complete with costumes, posters, and other props. Big buddy tour guides showed us around the museum in groups of three. We got to hear a variety of presentations and see several different exhibits.  Our buddy partnership with the Community School has proved to be beneficial for both us and our big buddies this year. Today the big buddies benefited from getting to present and share their knowledge with others. They had to think about ways to present their information that were engaging and developmentally appropriate for kinders, in addition to answering any questions that students had. The kinders enjoyed learning new facts about animals and appreciated seeing how scientists display their findings. Thank you, Merlins!
